[there's just silence, before the door opens several moments later-- not far at all at first, but on finding chiron there, he opens it further to allow him in.]
Shall we place bets for the next round? At this rate, they will not last past a month.
[His voice is rather cold with disappointment, frankly, now that he's around someone who understands the particular frustrations that come with being an ye olde watching children scamper underfoot.
But he'll come in, bending down so he doesn't hit the door frame... too tol.]
[He notes the lingering... and that gets a moment of pause on his end, though he will immediately lay himself in a corner where he does not take up nearly so much space. Always polite]
For now, I am uncertain... though I did find two notes that were left in the planetarium and the train station -- written on the walls by the same person, it seemed, based off the penmanship.
[Just. folding his arms, tired]
The first was a plea to not attack Yona, and to come find them without dragging anyone else into the fight. The second note was of similar tone, demanding that the opponent come out and face them.
[well. the lingering will be explained shortly, in the way that he sits with chiron after the centaur has settled. chiron's behaved when it comes to touching without permission, he's earned rights, and dealing with compulsions is tiring at this point.
definitely do not touch him next week though.]
The sort one might leave, were they to find themselves awake-- though it would be easy enough to forge the same.
quietly happy that he is not going to have to sit through another discussion wanting to toss himself into the river from exhaustion, so he says nothing and allows Emet to sit where he wants, while he relaxes against the wall.
Also keeping his hands to himself forever and ever because he is not interested in finding out if Emet truly could kill him.]
It is true. The handwriting seemed to match, but if multiple people were awake, they would have time to forge the messages.
[Mmm...]
One of the bodies was also found in space of all places. Perhaps it is my age, but that is a certainly a ... unique place to kill.
It would likely require at least some knowledge of how to get there, but then we all have had time to learn. That may not narrow it down as much as one might hope.
[thanks for not getting handsy, chiron lives another day.]
True. In which case, it will come down to who could overpower the girl in the first place... though of course, no one has had a chance to examine the body.
[So tiresome]
I might if given the chance. We have so few medical professionals in our ranks already.
The chances of finding both are low, but the chances of finding at least one are greater, if there are two.
[what they miss with one culprit, they may find with another. ]
Their motivations, on the other hand, may depend. I have begun to wonder-- we have been told nova is drawn to emotions, have we not? And if it is needed to stabilize this realm, it is possible some believe that drastic measures would produce more, or do so more efficiently.
It is just as possible that they would not be wrong, though I have yet to delve deeper into that.
If emotions are required, then... yes. I could easily see myself becoming a target.
[He doesn't mean to increase his own value, necessarily, but he is aware that many of the group here are fond of him. His death would ... cause a stir.]

I suppose this is an escalation, of sorts.
[two of them...]

[he shuts the door behind chiron, and then seems to just be lingering? he gestures for chiron to make himself comfortable, though.]
I really must wonder if one had a very eventful night, or two acted separately... questions for the morrow, but I wonder nevertheless.

[Joke's on them bc a binch is gonna be kinda busy Saturday, rip everyone]
Though I always welcome extra hands, seeing as death is eager to claim more of us each passing week.

Though... if there were two who independently killed, the chances of finding both are low, given the general indecisiveness of this group.
We might have a killer on our hands.
[A pause, and the mildly]
Well, I suspect many of us have killed at some point or another, but someone perhaps invested in the ending of this competition.

[Voice quiet with thought. The fact Emet also came to this conclusion gives it more weight now]
In which case, it's not that it was meant to break our spirits, so much as it was to ripen us for the purpose we were brought here in the first place.

[and, after a pause:]
And in such a case, then in a place like this-- even we must consider whether we may be targeted, should anyone think our deaths may serve a purpose.

I could see it, as well. But anyone could potentially be at risk, whether they were aiming to cause the most damage or no.
