Anyway an ancient centaur in a forest is the low hanging fruit, so for once Chiron has taken himself into the newer areas. While the sea isn't actually alien to him -- he remembers on occasion having to board ships and teach his students how to sail -- it is enough of a change in scenery that he finds himself lingering through the town and the port with a bit of wander lust in his steps.
Though eventually, when the nostalgia hits -- well, it proves a good companion for his sudden melancholy that he dare not tell anyone about; thus, a wonderful excuse to test the limits of his new lyre, fully carved and tuned once he finds the strings for it. By no means is this his best work, and he finds the notes to be a little too light, lacking the weightiness of a proper lyre, but...
He sits himself on the fort where the music will best carry, back pressed against one of the walls and his front legs hanging off the sides. He plays with his eyes closed, mind drifting with the melody.]
