what would your price be in exchange for answering it for me?

I am highly tempted to consider my price 'any conversation other than the recent ridiculousness', but if your question is sufficiently interesting... I suppose I may go along.

the question is about balancing aspected aether
or rather
what negates an overbalance

is an element canceled out by its opposite
or is it only canceled by a balancing amount of the other five elements

or both

A balance of all, preferably. Consider attempting to counter an abundance of fire with water: the amount of fire-aspected aether is already so high that to counteract it, a larger than normal amount of water-aspected aether is needed. By the time it is settled, the overall aetheric balance is still disrupted, although it will do in the short term to solve an immediate problem.

Consider it a starting point, a balancing of the immediate and most pressing need. You would not stitch a wound and then cease to further care for it.
